What you will be doing as data engineer
As senior data engineer at Brand New Day, you will be responsible for delivering data products through our data platform:
- Designing, building and maintaining data pipelines and data models using Python, Azure Databricks, dbt and Kafka
- Contributing to ongoing developments of the cloud platform, e.g. governance, scalability, self-service and machine learning functionality
- Collaborating with the team and business stakeholders, applying a ‘fail fast, learn fast’ methodology
- Contributing to data governance and data management solutions
- Work in sprints with our data scrum team
Job requirements
What we are looking for
- Minimum 4 years of work experience as a data engineer
- Solid work experience with a cloud data stack, preferably Azure, Databricks, dbt and Kafka
- Experience with Bicep, Terraform or a comparable infrastructure as code
- Proficiency in SQL and Python.
- A proven track record of delivering data products efficiently and at scale
- Excellent communication skills to translate technical concepts into business value
- A collaborative team player with a passion for innovation and problem-solving.
- Somebody based in the Netherlands and comfortable with a hybrid work model
- A plus: deeper experience with cloud, machine learning and/or the banking sector
